In September of 2020, the troop went to Gettysburg Pennsylvania for the weekend. This was the 2nd camping trip that we did during the coronavirus and it was a great trip.
On Saturday we got up bright and early and drove over to the Gettysburg Museum and didn't get into the video being shown so we ended up going over to the Eisenhower farm and we had a tour guide talk about his mansion to us and we got to look at his golf course and his farm. This was considered to be his getaway.
We then went to the museum and got into a show that was called “The Journey to Freedom” and we learned a lot of facts and information about the battle.
After that, we went through the museum and looked around and saw a crazy 360 panorama of the battle and that was mind-blowing to everyone.
Then we went through Gettysburg National Cemetery and looked at all the headstones and talked about how the Confederate and Union headstones looked different because the Union was much more respected in Philadelphia.
Finally we all took a long walk through the Main Street of Gettysburg and looked at a lot of different buildings and statues that were all around the town. And that is what we did on our main day in Gettysburg PA.
